In the End…(i stole this title from my boss)

May 3, 2007

Well, i know what you all have been wondering: how did robin do on his finals. Fantastic…hopefully. My Bible and Greek Myths exam went very nice. My film paper turned out good (and less than twenty pages which is what i was expecting). My comtemporary short stories class went decent, my german seemed way too easy but that’s probably good and my history one went well ( i hope). I lucked out on history and got one of the essay topics i wanted. Well, that’s all. I think the blog shuts down over the summer…..but i’ll be here taking a class, so i’ll let you know how that goes in the fall. til then, have a great summer.

End of the Year

May 3, 2007

I’m senior! Ahhh. I’d believe a junior maybe, but it doesn’t seem like I could possibly be a senior already.
The end of the semester has finished up well. My parents came to visit last weekend and got to hear our end of the year Wind Ensemble and Orchestra concert. I got to take them to Severance Hall to hear the Cleveland Orchestra too.
Finals week has been busy with New Horizons Band three days this week. Our concert was Wednesday night and now I am officially the retired administrative assistant. It will be weird to be less involved with the program next year as it has been a big part of my life the entire time I’ve been here. On Wednesday we finished our very last methods class too. We had our lab band “concert.” Even though there were only a few people in the audience, it was still weird to have to go out there and bow and have an audience watch you conduct. It was cool though. I feel like a totally different teacher after this semester.
I’m staying to play at graduation this weekend, then it’s looking like I am going to go home for about a month (with a visit from my friend Laura!), then come back and work here for the rest of the summer. It should be a nice mix things.
This will be my last entry for the year. I’ve really enjoyed writing this blog. Good luck to all of you who are graduating! I hope you enjoy college as much as I have :)

Officially A Senior!

May 3, 2007

Well, all my finals are done for the Spring 2007 semester. I’m officially a Senior now! Man, it has FLOWN by. I can’t imagine how soon I’ll be graduating, I need to slow things down. I’m really looking forward to next year and the great times I’ll have.

This summer I’ll be living on campus and working with the Orientation program. I also picked up a job as a server at Damon’s. It should be a fun and interesting blend of work for the summer. I’ll also really enjoy living up here for the summer - I never did like leaving for a few months.

But, pretty soon I’ll have to pack up my room and move everything into a smaller room for the summer. It’ll take a little getting used to with the size difference and such, but I’m sure it’ll be all right.

Well, I better get going. Have to enjoy my last few days here for this semester. Good day to you all, have a great summer, and see you in the fall!! :)

Finals

May 1, 2007

Well, I’m in the middle of my finals week. Monday I had a written exam, Wednesday I have a written exam, and the rest are papers that I just need to turn in.

I’m having to study a lot for this exam on Wednesday. It’s in my American Literature class. We have to define certain literary movements/periods, identify quotes of poems, who the author was, and what the poem was about, and we have three mini-essays at the end. So, it’s quite the exam for an English major. I’m used to just writing papers for a final, so this is going to be a little tricky.

I’ll check back in later this week with updates on everything, the year’s almost over!!!

Almost Done!

May 1, 2007

Finals week is actually better than the normal week for me. I have only 2 finals, 1 of which I took last evening. I don’t really know how I did, but it shouldn’t be too bad. I have my second and last final this evening and I’m so excited to be done that I can’t concentrate. Tonights actually my hardest final, it is intermediate econ and it is cumulative. So lots to study! But once I’m done, I get to go driving and I can’t wait, hehe!
Although I am super excited about going home in 8 days:), I am really getting sad about not getting to see my friends for 4 months and my senior friends graduating :( Bittersweet moment!

Stressed out!

May 1, 2007

So while everyone at B-W is rejoicing over the end of the school year, I am hitting the hardest part of my semester! I have 4 projects due in the next 2 weeks, and in 7 days my boyfriend will be here! = ) So basically I have 7 days to complete these assignments because there will be no school work when he is here! I am so excited, and although I am super stressed, knowing that he is coming is keeping me motivated to get it all done. I had a really tough mid-semester exam last week and the average score was a 62% but I got a B and was in the top 5% of 120 people that took it. I was so excited because I was really skeptical on how it went even though I felt pretty prepared. When my boyfriend comes we are going to the Great Barrier Reef for 4 days and I am very excited about that. I haven’t been there yet so it will be something we will both get to experience for the first time together. I have had a bunch of friends make the trip (a bunch went this past weekend) and just said how incredibly amazing it was and it was the best place in Australia thus far. Its very tropical there and the weather is extremely warm (90+ degrees). It has been about 75-80 here during the day but once the sun goes down it gets chilly (about 55 degrees, warm for Cleveland though) haha. I am getting antsy to come home and I am starting to miss everyone a little bit more each day. Only 48 more days, but who’s counting? ;-)
