Browns Game?? WHhhaat?

December 29, 2009

First off, let me state that I do not care for football… Yes people, hate me all you want. Anyways, Football has never been a game that I care for. Anyways, there’s a way to make money for organizations on campus via fundraising, and one of those ways is by working a Cleveland Browns game. I worked yesterday (Sunday) at the Cleveland Browns stadium. What did I do, well, I patted down people making sure they weren’t bringing in weapons of any sort, checking people’s bags for prohibited items, and working security. What’s funny is, I have never been to a Cleveland Browns game. So my first game, I spent it outside working, freezing my limbs, and being semi-miserable. However, working with people from school made it much much more enjoyable. I also had the opportunity to watch the browns game third quarter from the first row in the endzone, so I guess it wasn’t all that bad.

So when you gotta pay for your education, go work a browns game, or find something. Lols.

Christmas!

December 26, 2009

It came!

You know, I’m wondering if I believe in the whole 2012 thing. Y’know, if it’s real, people are just going to stress themselves out getting all these presents and then poof, it’s gone not FOUR days before. I think that’d be a tragedy. It almost might be convenient TO believe in it. Then you can tell your friends and family you spent all your money stockpiling nonperishable goods and building a fallout shelter, and that’s why they won’t be receiving any gifts from you this year. But, you will offer them the chance to survive the nuclear radiation with you, and that’s the greatest gift of all, isn’t it?

So, yeah. I got Super Mario Galaxy! It’s a pretty awesome game! It’s sort of unfairly fun, and it looks incredible graphics wise. So how’s that for a score?

I also got this, which is an interesting present:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeQOuNBuJwg. It’s way more fun than it even looks like! Party! I’ll have to make sure it’s in my shelter when I go down. Gotta have something entertaining in there.

Too many cookies….?

December 23, 2009

You may have heard of the gallon challenge. For those of you who haven’t, here’s the lowdown: You try to drink a gallon of milk in an hour without heaving your guts out. Well, that doesn’t generally work out too hot for the people who try it, and this is why: milk expands in your stomach as it breaks down, so even if you CAN down a gallon of cow juice, you aren’t going to last long, because your stomach literally will not be able to hold it.

You may be asking why I just told you that. And I’m here to tell you that I did it and was successful.

Actually, I did it, and was unsuccessful.

Actually, I didn’t do it, and was unsuccessful. I got pretty close. Here’s the situation from about 10:00 tonight.

If you give a me a cookie, I’m going to want some milk. If you give a me two cookies, I’m going to want two milks. If you give a me ten cookies, I’m going to need lots of milk. So the math is clear. And when you factor in the derivative of the milk protein growth rate, subtract the cookie constant and the digestion ratio, and find the extrema of the curve, you rapidly approach hurlaceous conditions. Luckily, I hit the asymptote, and just felt very ill and remorseful instead.

Another cookie party tomorrow? I’m thinking so.

Enjoyin’ Break

December 21, 2009

So even though I’m break, I’ve been fairly busy. Last Saturday, I played for the wedding ceremony of my friend’s sister. It was in St. John’s Nepomucene up in Cleveland, and it was the first time I had been to that church. It was really quite beautiful. My next job is up in Chagrin falls, playing a couple of services on Christmas Eve. Other than that, I’ve been relaxing at home, enjoying my mom’s awesome cooking, and hanging out with some friends from high school.

I’m also looking at jobs on campus for the spring, hopefully I can get to do something like stage managing at the conservatory or work in one of the science labs. The extra money would definitely help out, since I’m saving up to hopefully invest in a new violin bow (and instrument, eventually).

Hope you’re having a great holiday.

Transiberian orchestra and grades!

December 20, 2009

Well Ladies and Gentelmen, my grades were released earlier this week, and I can say that I sure did well. I got one B and the rest were A’s… That’s what I call a success.

My weekend has been quite awesome not worrying about school. It’s just nice to sit back, relax, and watch terrible reality tv shows and other meh programming. “Cheaters” and “Ninja Warrior” on G4 has to be my favorite two shows for break. Nothing more terrible and entertaining as those.

Anyways, Yesterday I went to the Quicken Loans Arena, It’s located downtown, about a 25 drive from my house and about the same from B-Dubs. Anyways, the Transiberian Ochestra was in town performing. I got some tickets for myself and my girlfriend as a Christmas surprise for her. It was absolutely awesome. I’ve never been to a performance before, but I will most def have to go next year.

A continuation of nothing!

December 19, 2009

I’ve found a couple things are nice coming home.

You appreciate your old friends, even though you haven’t necessarily been in touch. I’ve been spending one on one time with some of the people I used to see in high school a lot, just going out to dinner, or spending a day driving around going to whole foods and buying sushi and gourmet sorbet with them and eating it in your old english classroom. It’s fun. You appreciate them because, though your new friends at college are awesome to hang out with, and it’s so exciting getting to know them, the people you knew back home are often uniquely irreplaceable.

You also appreciate things you thought were totally stupid when you were there. For example, I went to see my high school’s christmas concert, with Choir and Band. Is it the best thing in the world? No. But it doesn’t seem as long as it did, it isn’t interminable to sit through like you thought it would be when you were up on stage, and you value having gone.

Sorry for that somewhat pensive blog, tune in next time for some more nothing!

Home again, home again!

December 15, 2009

So what do you do when you survive 10 classes, live through 2 weeks of nonstop action, and drive home for two full days?

Is it 1: Nothing, 2: nothing, or 3: nothing? If you guessed nothing, you’re cooooooorrrect! Getting together with friends is fun, and eating home cooked meals is fun, but mostly, doing NOTHING is fun. Having your room back, aimlessly browsing facebook, playing video games, sleeping….

Oh yeah, and that DENTIST APPOINTMENT! Thanks mom! But at least it’s over now and I can go back to…. you guessed it! Nothing!

Yeah! No School! More Work?

December 14, 2009

So my break started Saturday instead of everybody else. I went to the New Officer Retreat for Greek Life so I got to stay on campus Friday to Saturday. It feels good to be done with classes. That relaxation of not having to wake up and go to class.

Now my new dilemma is working for break. I worked as a server at a restaurant, so I’m going to see if they will hire me back. I sure hope so, because I needs the moolah. Getting back home also lead to getting work done around the house. My first project was installing a new kitchen faucet….. I’m no plumber so it did took longer than expected, but I got that done.

So Yay for break, boo for work….
Can’t wait for school to start? WHAT AM I SAYING???!!1!11
