O Hai There End of the Year!

May 8, 2010

Hey all, it’s been a while. How about that?
Anyways, I’m chilling here at lovely B-Dubs, when everyone is mostly gone. I’m here at extended stay with some other people ushering for graduation. So I get to stay a tad bit longer and see my friends graduate… Two awesome perks of being an usher.

So what has happened since last time?

1) Formal
I had my Fraternity’s spring formal and it’s also the senior send off formal. It’s sad to see some great guys graduate. Guys that you look up to, respect, gain wisdom from, or in my case, annoy them as much as you can. It was a great night to dance, have a meal, and just bro out.

2) Finals
Finals are some very scary things. I had a final everyday, minus Friday of this week. It’s extremely stressful. For the most part, everything went well. So I’m a happy camper.

3)Moving Out
So there are two times of the year where it is mass chaos here at B-W. The first being move-in, the second being move-out. You see so many people who are maniacs moving tons of crap out. People please, don’t bring so much when you move in. A ton more of things will accumulate here on campus and there’s going to be so much junk to take back home. I’m taking a futon that I ended up with back home to use for next semester. So that should be exciting. So for the most part, everything is out of my room. Just minor things here and there to take out for tomorrow.

4) Summer Job/Internship maybe?
I have applied to several places over the summer for employment. I will probably be working a few days in the admissions office, but for the most part I will be job hunting. I have interviewed at several places and so far it all looks good. So wish me the best on that…

5) Summer!
I have some plans for the summer. So let’s list them and see if I complete them.
- Go on a roadtrip
I would like to roadtrip it to Canada with some friends over break and just relax
-Go to EMR Paintball in PA
Every year, some buddies of mine and myself go on a trip to PA for this massive paintball event. It’s a really cool trip to do, so I hope to get that done again.
-Go to Indiana for UIFI (The Undergraduate Fraternity Institute)
I’m scheduled to go to Indiana for UIFI which is a large conference for those who are in the Greek Life community.
-Have fun
It’s summer, no school. Just enjoy life, ya know!

So have a good summer break. To the new B-W’ers who are coming to BW, HOPE TO SEE YOU!!!!

Over Now

May 7, 2010

Well, I’m officially done with my junior year in college, and it feels a little different this time around. First, it’s nice being in a house off campus, and I don’t feel rushed to pack and scram out of here. I’ll probably gradually trickle some of my stuff back to my permanent home over the next week or so, and I’ll basically have a week to be a bum before I start work painting houses over the summer. Even then, I’ll have the luxury of coming back and forth between homes whenever I feel like it until I start my second job as a camp counselor. Also, it’s a weird feeling knowing that next year is my last ever in college… but let’s pretend I never said anything since I’m not trying to think about that.

My finals actually were really really easy–I had two “real” ones, the other classes we just met or turned in some things. Plus, the one test was an essay which isn’t really something you can study for too much, so it’s like I only had to study for one final. Even then that one (for communications) was just our third unit test, so yeah. A real easy week for me, so it’s almost like I’ve been out of school for weeks now. And yes, it’s already boring me… I kind of can’t wait for work to start, then I won’t just be sitting on my hands and will be making some money. I’ve been really pinching pennies and being super cheap with food lately, and while that can sort of be remedied by going home to Pepper Pike, I’m not ready to be moving stuff around and sticking around there yet. So I guess I’ll kick off my summer with nothing too special, but I’d say that’s all you could ask for after two fairly difficult semesters of school. I hope this summer’s an enjoyable one, and of course I look forward to next year at Baldwin Wallace, so until then, I hope everyone has a great summer!

Drawing to a close…

This year is. It’s an interesting feeling, when you get to think about it in between running around in circles screaming your head off about finals. There are some beautiful, beautiful days outside now.

Freshman year has just flown by. It seems like yesterday that I was meeting Natalia, Joe, and Ciara at orientation, and my first classes started, and I can still remember getting lost in the midst of all the unfamiliar buildings with names I didn’t know yet, and climbing the steps of Dietsch last semester to get to English. It all feels like it was yesterday. But doesn’t everything in retrospect?
