This marks the end of my first hard week of the semester, and I’d say I managed it fairly well. It’s just that I had a few papers to write and a ton of reading. I’m getting used to the huge amount of reading I’m doing this semester, especially considering how much I like some of it. This book we read for Lit. of Rock and Roll, “Great Jones Street”, was pretty dang awesome. Like, up-there-in-my-all-timers awesome, I think I’m bold enough to say. It’s about a rock star who retreats from his stardom and becomes reclusive, and it’s just this quirky, cool postmodern book. I’d recommend it. Also, this week I’ve had the pleasure of learning about some monstrous papers to come in the future. An 8-pager due pretty soon, and a 10-pager due in like 10 weeks (so I guess I can’t complain much about that one). These are the longest papers I’ll have ever written, and honestly I hope it helps me continue to improve at writing. They’ll be some good tests of my abilities. Oh, also tonight I’m going to see a “voice play” put on by BW with my mom. I forget the name (shame on me), but it’s a play that’s all spoken by four people… if I remember correctly. One of my professors (Dr. Dolzani) is actually in it, so this will be a nice cultural experience for me, and makes for some quality time with mommy dearest : ).
I’ll let you guys know how it is later on. Until then, readers.
